The connection between the Holy Land and Christianity began with the birth and life of Jesus Christ, but it certainly didn’t end there. The bond between Christians and the Land of Israel was kept alive throughout the centuries and left many fascinating landmarks throughout the country. The dramatic stories of the early apostles, the Holy Roman Empire, The Crusaders and countless Pilgrims who walked the land for thousands of Years, are engraved in every stone and corner of Israel. The landmarks of Christianity in Israel are like a time capsules who send visitors back in time to where it all began. Small details tell an epic story. Behind every stone lays an untold story.
It is way too easy to get lost and just follow the usual tourist route that covers most of the famous Christian sites. For some, it will be enough.

Which are the must-see Christian sites in Israel?
Please use the suggestions below as a base to let us know what interest you more and must be integrated into the final plan.
Jerusalem:
Jerusalem has the highest number of Christian sacred sites than any other place in the world. It is a must place to visit, even if you are in Israel for only 1 day. We usually prefer to begin our Jerusalem journey with the overwhelming view of Jerusalem at the top of the mount of Olives, a major site of pilgrimage for Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians. Under the mount of Olives (by foot or by car), lies the magnificent Church of All Nations - where Jesus was last seen praying before he was betrayed by Judas and captured by the Romans. Next, we will visit Mary’s tomb and the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus gave his last sermon to his students. We can also visit the Russian Orthodox Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene on the slope of the mount depends on the plan we decide together with you and can always be changed on the go.
Inside the special walls of Jerusalem’s Old City, lies the Church of the Holy Sepulchre - Golgotha, where Jesus was historically crucified and where Virgin Mary received her son's body. It is also the place where Jesus' original tomb is believed to be located. We will make sure once planning your trip that you will have enough time to “be present”: relax, walk around, hear the historical and biblical explanations from the guide and of course enough time to pray.
We will also walk the Via Dolorosa - follow Jesus’s last steps to his crucifixion.
For the Protestants evangelists, we can take a small detour and visit two important churches, the Christ Church and the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
Outside the walls of the old city lies the Garden Tomb where is considered by some Christians to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Ein Karem: In the beautiful surrounding of Ein Karem, one of Jerusalem’s most precious neighborhoods, with winding streets, restaurants and many art galleries, you can admire some of the most interesting pilgrims' milestones: Church of St. John the Baptist, Church of the Visitation and the Monastery of Les Soeurs de Notre-Dame de Sion.
Dead Sea area:
If you wish to include a day visit in the dead sea, around 1-hour drive from Jerusalem, then you should also consider this site as part of your journey. You can visit/get baptized in Qsr al-Yahud north to the dead sea, where Jesus’s spiritual birth took place by John the Baptist. It is also believed that this is also where Elijah the Prophet ascended to heaven.
Bethlehem:
Bethlehem is located next to Jerusalem. We will visit the famous Church of the Nativity - where Jesus physical birth took place. In a short distance from the church, lies the Milk Grotto where Mary nursed baby Jesus.
Another option would be to visit Shepherds’ Field - where according to the Gospel of Luke, an angel announced the birth of Jesus.
Galille area (north of Israel):
- Nazareth- walk in the old city and visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the birthplace of Christianity and where according to the Catholic tradition, Virgin Mary first heard that she would conceive a child.
- The Wedding Church of Cana - where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine.
- Drive through the beautiful, scenic scenery of Sea of Galilee & Tiberias
- Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
- Capernaum - home to the Apostles, at the foot of the Mount of Beatitudes.
- Tagbha with the Church of Multiplication - where Jesus Christ performed the Miracle of the Multiplication of Fish and Loaves, together with the Chapel of St. Peter where Jesus was resurrected for the last time.
- Yardenit baptism site - the famous Jordan River “Yardenit” site.
This is only a partial list of recommendations. Keep in mind that your Israel journey is built out of many pieces. From the level of guidance to the places you eat or stay. We can guide you in any piece of that puzzle. Based on your input, we can design together with you the ideal tour plan - we guarantee we will do our best in meeting your needs and budget.

Traveling to Israel as a family can be an incredible, bonding experience. Combining the past, the history, archeology, and each family religious roots together with fun and modern experiences. The specific itinerary we create for each family varies differently more than any other trip due to the group mix, their ages, and interests. In this case, we prefer to hear from you first so we can suggest an itinerary that is already customized based on the information you will provide.
In general, what we usually recommend is to follow the main “must-sees” that will probably cover the majority of the tour, but what makes your family journey a real memorable experience is a lot more than just that. From the places you stay, the people you meet, the restaurants you visit and the professional level of the guide - it is all part of one big puzzle. This is the point where we can also add a big value and to smartly spice the tour plan with “adds-on” that relate specifically to you:
- Do you wish to add an additional cultural aspect (i.e explore Israel’s best museums, gallery cultural scene, graffiti or nightlife tour)?
- Do you wish to explore different, less common lifestyles of living (life in the Kibbutz/Bedouin camp hospitality)?
- Are you interested in deeper learning on the special geopolitical challenges Israel is facing (i.e meeting an expert in that field or visiting specific war-related museums)?
- Are you a foodie who also love to visit boutique vineyards when traveling the countryside? (i.e Galilee's incredible vineyards, food market tasting tour etc’)
- Would you like to experience a different desert experience (i.e old Jewish settles in Avdat, Mitspe Ramon crater etc’)?
- How about exploring the history of the big cities from a different angle? (going through a live escape room in the streets)?
Is one of the family members coming to Israel on his 5th visit, while other members were never there? Each party wants and needs something else - and we know how to do it :-)
There are endless alternatives. It is up to you & us to engage together for the perfect planning. We believe that by providing us with details about your family such as the number of people, the age range of the members, their interests, if it is their 1st visit to Israel and if there are certain “must-see” will be a good start.
We will take it from here, talk/chat, offer an initial itinerary and finalize it together with you until we come up with the perfect plan. Based on that, we can provide you with the final price quote for the tour.

Celebrating Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Israel can be the type of experience that will stay with your family for generations. An Israeli experience, that will be tailored to your family (and to the Bar Mitzvah boy or girl) can create a true coming-of-age-experience that will bond your family to the Jewish homeland.
We believe, that a bar/bat Mitzvah tour should include a combination of history, ancient and modern Jewish heritage, together with a lot of family fun and experiences that will appeal to a coming of age teen as well as the entire family.
Do you think your Bar Mitzvah boy or girl will like rafting in the Upper Jordan River? Or maybe a day in an IDF live fire range? Maybe a desert 4X4 experience and a night as a guest at a Bedouin resort?
We are aware that the “tricky” part of the tour is that in the end, it is a family trip, with different ages and interests of each member. It is a delicate mix and together we will finalize a tour plan that will touch every one of the group members, putting the Bar/Bat Mitzvah as the center of events.
In addition to the tour, we would be happy to help you arrange an unforgettable ceremony and/or event. Would you be interested in a ceremony at the western wall? a big welcome party at the David Tower in Jerusalem? we can make it happen!
The flexibility and options are endless. Some prefer to start their journey with the Mitzvah ceremony and some prefer to save the best for last. We will draft an itinerary based on your time limitations, the type of group and budget. Be sure, all the pieces of this memorable journey matter to us. We understand how important this trip is to your family, and we will do anything in our power to make it a truly unique experience.
Below is a sample itinerary for a Bar Mitzvah tour, which you can use as a reference.
